Work continues on the fountain steps
Published 06/04/23The area around the newly cleaned and restored fountain is the final stage in the project.
The steps needed to be repositioned and made safe. You can see (6th April 2023) they are almost finished, with the heavily scaffolded Senior School building in the background. The pebbled walkway from the top steps down to these steps and then around the fountain will be replaced with a resin-bonded finish that is durable and easy to walk on. Good weather is needed to be able to complete that part.
Progress continues. Frank Nelson would be pleased.

Aussie relatives visit "Dad's" Fountain restoration
Published 25/01/23Karen Glen and her daughter Rebecca flew in from Australia and came to see the restoration of the fountain paid for by her father Frank Nelson, Old Royal, in memory of his wife Gwen.
Karen and Rebecca (left) are seen here with Mike Masters, Chairman of the Old Royals Association and a Foundation Trustee (right) and Douglas (Dougie) Craig. Mike and Dougie were close friends of Frank having been at "The Royal" at the same time.

Restoration of the Fountain in front of the Senior School
Published 04/10/22This work was commissioned and funded by Frank Nelson, an Old Royal living in Australia, in memory of his wife, Gwen. Frank died before the work could be started. A plaque remembering them will be incorporated in the renovated fountain scheme.
